Description

Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor i.e. it reduces the production of acids in the stomach. Nexium blocks the actions of acid-producing enzymes on the walls of the stomach. This facilitates the healing of ulcers in the duodenum, esophagus and stomach. Nexium also helps to prevent the formation of new ulcers.

Nexium can be used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease symptoms and other health complications caused by excess acid in the patient’s stomach, i.e. Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Moreover, it can be used to facilitate the healing of acid caused damage to the esophagus, a condition known as esophagitis.
